The purpose of yoga is to unite the body with the mind, and the mind with the soul. The methods, therefore, encompass the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual – through ethical disciplines, physical postures, breath control and meditation.

The regular practice of asanas (yoga poses) and inhale-exhale breathing exercises will make the body strong, supple and healthy. It will improve circulation, stimulate the inner organs, glands and nerves, and open the body in preparation for meditation, deep relaxation and a meditative perspective on life. This in turn leads to greater energy, better concentration, and a happier, more fulfilling existence. Yoga is a healing practice, and many common physical ailments can be improved through yoga.

Yoga flow should exercise every part of the body and should also include relaxation and meditation. Mindful yoga can realise or awaken an individual’s spiritual essence, ultimately leading to enlightenment – a wordless and timeless experience of inner peace.

The yoga teacher at NusaBay Menjangan makes yoga accessible to all ages and body types by adapting techniques to individual needs. Each individual will work to his or her own comfortable level without being pushed beyond personal limitations. The emphasis is to guide participants down a path of rejuvenation and energy through exercise and meditation to bring balance, strength and flexibility. The result is a joyous and free flowing ritual.
