New Land Rover

WakaLandCruise is proud to announce the recent acquisition of a brand new Land Rover Defender and its addition to the company’s fleet of classic Land Rover Defenders and Toyota Land Cruisers, for the exclusive day trips as well as private charters to the “ Secret soul of Bali”.

The Land Rover Defender is one of the world’s most iconic four-wheel-drive vehicles – the epitome of toughness, ruggedness, strength and, most importantly, safety and capability. From its earliest days, Land Rover’s dependable qualities attracted adventurers determined to access unreachable places, and to this day the mighty Defender continues to take explorers to uncharted territory.

While uncharted territory is not on the WakaLandCruise itinerary, the vehicle’s famous on-and-off-road capability, together with its three spacious rows of seats and ‘skylight’ Alpine-style roof windows, will ensure that intimate groups of two to six people can witness and experience many of the surprising, traditional, cultural and beautiful aspects of Bali that most visitors never get to see.

Dreaming of the perfect day out on a private luxury road trip? WakaLandCruise is now taking its famous ‘Journey to the Secret Soul of Bali’ to a new level by incorporating this adventure in the comfort of the new Land Rover Defender on regular day trips operating every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday or on a private charter tour on any day of the week. This is an ideal opportunity for those of you who would like to celebrate a special occasion with a private group of friends, arrange a family day out, or even a romantic daytrip for two.

The journey begins from the moment you are picked up at your hotel or villa. From there, you will be transported along Southwest Bali’s quiet country roads in the capable hands of your Cruise Host who, as your personal guide and driver, will take care of everything on your WakaLandCruise.

Travelling through authentic Balinese villages, you will be privy to cultural treasures, terraced rice paddies and a rural lifestyle that hasn’t changed in generations. You will have the opportunity to visit a natural stone quarry where the soft volcanic ‘paras’ stone is hand-cut out of a riverbed, and you will be welcomed into the traditional home of a farming family, where you can enjoy locally-grown coffee and Balinese snacks. After a short stroll through the rice fields, your journey in Waka’s trusted new vehicle will continue along a narrow winding road to Jatiluwih, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its preservation of traditional Balinese farming techniques. True to its name, which means ‘extraordinary’ or ‘truly marvellous’, this scenic point offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views imaginable. The Land Rover Defender will then climb to over 900m above sea level, and, as sacred Mt Batukaru reveals its splendour, you will arrive at Waka’s very own Bamboo Forest Restaurant, hidden high up in the cool rainforest, surrounded by a plantation of giant bamboo. Here, you will be served a delicious ‘ristaffel’ lunch – a generous assortment of Balinese mountain food – prepared and cooked on-site utilising the fresh produce of the region. This private restaurant in the Secret Soul of Bali is the reason why WakaLandCruise can offer a luxury private charter road trip that no other overland tour company on the island of Bali is able to match. The final stop, still high on the slopes of Mt Batukaru, is Pura Luhur Batukau, the ‘Lofty Stone Coconut Shell Temple’ complex, which venerates the deities of the mountains and the lakes. Pause in this spiritual place and reflect upon a wonderful day and an exceptional land cruise into the mystical heart of this amazing island.

‘The Journey is the Reward’, and the new Land Rover Defender as part of the WakaLandCruise fleet is offering the opportunity of exciting adventures and bespoke moments in the breathtaking Balinese countryside.

Private luxury charters to the Secret Soul of Bali in the new Land Rover Defender are priced at US$500, and regular day trips at US$ 145 per person, inclusive of the following: Transfer from / to hotel, mineral water, tea, coffee, Balinese ristaffel Lunch with complimentary soft drinks, wine, beer, tea or mountain coffee and Cognac.
